What is good design?
As broad as an answer that can be provided to this question, determining what's "good design" is pretty easy. I believe a good design is a design that fufills its purpose, and all design has the same purpose: to attract consumers and sell the product. If the design is successful in that sense, then it is good. Whether or not each individual person or designer likes it or considers it good is almost insignificant aside from personal reasons. Whether its a magazine, ad, or cd, designs represent something that needs attention. The definition of good design can vary from each individual, but in all reality, the business side of graphic design does conquer the artistic side of it. The challenge for designers is combining both elements and being successful in the sense of making a good living and maintaining some integrity.
