Rock Band Poster

So we we were given the assignment of designing a poster for a rock band name Tiger!Tiger! We don't know much about the band just yet, I have to basically rule out photography in this project considering I probably won't be able to take pictures of the band, unless I come up with another way to use some photos, like tigers, I don't think they can sue me. So taking this into consideration, I looked at a couple of posters that were illustrated.

These are a couple of posters by an artist named NIC COWAN.

On the left one I love the illustration and his color treatment.

On the right one, I like his placement of type.



As far as ideas for Tiger!Tiger!, I still have some research to do. I want something that really represents the band and their content. When I visited their Myspace page, one image really struck me as I wandered around their profile while listening to their music.



Under the "General Info" section and "Sounds Like" subheading, they had this picture. I thought to myself that this picture described them very well, and its really funny! As I continued to browse around, I saw some pics of them and they confirmed the accuracy of this picture. It's kinda like classic 60's meets punk rock, and thats what I think I'll go for.
